The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, Dr. Jamil Jibo Magayaki, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dr. Jamil joined the ruling party after the defection of Governor Dauda Lawal to the APC.

The governor’s move followed extensive consultations with key political stakeholders, party leaders, elders, and supporters across the state.

In a statement released on his social media handles, the former Zamfara PDP chairman explained that the decision was driven by the prevailing political realities in Zamfara State.

The statement reads: “I, Dr. Jamil Jibo Magayaki, the Zamfara State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), hereby announce my formal defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
