The Zamfara Council of Ulamas has enlisted support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the second term bid of Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, a statement by the publicity secretary of the APC in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau, has said.

According to the statement which was released after a meeting with the state coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the clerics also appraised Matawalle’s administration and that of President Muhammadu Buhari.

It said the chairman of the state council of Ulamas, Sheikh Abubakar Fari and chairman of imams of jumat mosques who doubles as the chief imam of Gusau Central Mosque, Shiek Liman Muhammad Dan-Alhaji, spoke on behalf of the clerics.

He was quoted in the statement to have said they were convinced beyond doubt that the APC presidential candidate was unequalled and would be the next best thing to happen to the country.

Marafa urged the Islamic scholars, comprising juma’at mosques imams and their deputies, muazims and others to support Tinubu’s candidature, saying his support for the former Lagos governor was borne out of his track record of achievements.

Marafa said as a two-term governor of Lagos State, Tinubu left an enviable record cutting across economic, social, empowerment and political development.
