Speaking at Bayero University Kano (BUK) during a stakeholder engagement, Zaura outlined his organisation’s comprehensive approach to addressing the crisis through sustained dialogue and community involvement.

He said, “We began by engaging directly with affected youth and Daba group leaders across Kano’s zones. We listened with empathy to understand their motivations, frustrations, and aspirations.

“The foundation has developed a strategic action plan and solutions framework addressing the Daba crisis, which has been submitted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for federal consideration.

“Our mission extends beyond violence prevention. This fight is about restoring human dignity, reclaiming wasted potential, and rebuilding our communities’ moral fabric,” he explained.

The event featured academic presentations highlighting education and vocational training as key rehabilitation tools for vulnerable youth.

In a communiquƩ issued at the end of the event, stakeholders called for unified action involving parents, educators, religious leaders, security forces, and government officials to end the menace.

It warned that neglecting the Daba menace would result in increased violence, destruction, and social fragmentation.

Zaura pledged continued commitment to the anti-Daba mission “with innovation, persistence, and hope,” emphasising that Kano’s youth represent “potential solutions waiting to be nurtured, not burdens to society.”
