Despite fierce competition from mobile network operators such as MTN, Airtel, Globacom, and 9mobile, ISPs in Nigeria have persisted in being instrumental in increasing the number of Nigerians who have access to the internet.

With special offerings including satellite broadband and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), among other services, these ISPs are anticipated to assist the nation in reaching the Nigeria National Broadband Plan’s (NNBP 2020–2025) aim of 70 per cent broadband penetration by 2025.

According to the latest data by the NCC, a total of 115 ISPs whose data were made available had a total of 213,876 active customers at the end of September this year.

For instance the data disclosed that Spectranet topped the list with 113,747 subscribers at the end of Q3 2023, followed by Tizeti with 19,126 subscribers and IPNX with 14,871 subscribers.
