2 Die, 1 Injured In Kano Road Crash

A fatal road accident at Eldorado Cina Junction along the Airport Road in Kano has claimed two lives and left one person seriously injured.

In confirming the incident, the Kano Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said the crash which occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, involved a commercial DAF truck and a private Jincheng motorcycle.

FRSC attributed the accident to reckless driving as the primary cause of the collision.

A statement by the Command’s Public Education Officer, CRC Abdullahi Labaran disclosed that out of the six male occupants involved in the accident, two died at the scene, while another sustained severe injuries.

Labaran said FRSC operatives responded within three minutes of the incident, promptly evacuating the injured victim to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for medical attention.

He added that the bodies of the deceased were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

The public education officer further said the vehicles and recovered items were handed over to the Gwagwarwa Police Division for further investigation.

The Corps reiterated its call for motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies while it extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured speedy recovery.
