The parents reported the incident at Ibeto Police outstation under Nasko Division and when preliminary search was conducted, stains of blood were found on the girl’s body and her uniform.

The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 9.

“The suspect was immediately arrested and he confessed to the crime. The victim was taken to General Hospital Nasko for medical attention and the suspect has been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution,” the PPRO added.

According to him the missing boy was later handed over to Tafa Division of Niger State Police Command and during investigation, a neighbour living in the same area in Sabon-Wuse, Genesis Yaryok Sunday (27) from Kafanchan, Kaduna State, was arrested in connection with the incident.

“He confessed that he abducted the boy and took him to an area along Kaduna Road where he kept the boy. He said that he intended to collect N200,000 ransom from the mother of the victim to pay some debts,” he said.
