2023: Adebutu Promise To Rescue Ogun People From Endemic Poverty

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu on Friday, flagged off the governorship campaign for the year 2023 general elections with a declaration that he is on a mission to rescue the people of the state from an “endemic poverty, youth unemployment, inadequate social services” among others.

Adebutu made the declaration on Friday while addressing members of PDP supporters, who converged in their hundreds in Abeokuta, the state capital for the gubernatorial campaign rally of the party.

Speaking at the rally, which held at the arcade ground of the Alake palace in Abeokuta, Adebutu, who reminisced on the setbacks and litigations that initially greeted his emergence as the authentic flag bearer of the party however, commended the Nigerian judiciary for standing by the dictates of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the electoral law.

Unveiling his manifestos, the PDP governorship candidate, who described himself as a harbingers of relief, said his administration will “reduce hardship” and provide sustainable relief for the people of the state through a 7-focal areas as contained in his manifestos.

These according to Adebutu, included: “Improved Security, Law and Order. True Local Government Autonomy, Public Service Reforms and Workers Welfare Urban Regional Development, Physical Planning and Transportation Rural and Border Communities Development, Agricultural and Economic Development of Women, Youth and Sports Enhancement of Education, Healthcare and other Social Services.

“Today, we are here to formally declare our readiness as a party, to take over power on the way to good governance in May 2023. We recognize that this process cannot be easy and it is because it is difficult, we have chosen to walk this path to achieve victory in the general elections of 2023”.

Taking a swipe at the incumbent administration in the state, the PDP governorship candidate berated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as “not being available for the people it governs with provisions of basic social services, particularly at the lower tier of government.

“In our quest to serve the people of our dear state, we conducted an independent survey to identify the needs of our people, the result of the survey is alarming and as a matter of fact, there is a need for an urgent rescue mission.
