Saudi Arabia has given an Award of Excellence to the Sokoto State government for its successful 2024 Hajj operations.

Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), Aliyu Musa, while presenting the award to Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the Government House, Sokoto, announced that Sokoto State clinched the prestigious award due to the proper arrangements made to ensure the welfare of the state’s pilgrims during the just concluded 2024 Hajj exercise.

Governor Aliyu commended the PWA officials for their unwavering commitment, which led to the successes recorded in the last Hajj exercise.

He said, “I want to thank you for the unshakeable commitment and glaring hard work you have displayed in diligently organizing the last Hajj exercise.

“The arrangements you made in ensuring the welfare of our pilgrims were indeed superb and extremely worthy of commendation. Feeding and accommodation of our pilgrims were indeed marvelous and unmatched, so keep up the good work,” Aliyu maintained.
He assured the agency of his administration’s continued support to ensure more successes in subsequent Hajj exercises.
