2027: APC Leaders In Oyo Pledge Support For Tinubu, Alabi

Ahead of the 2027 geeneral elections, prominent chieftains and leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egbeda/ Ona Ara federal constituency in Oyo State have declared their total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and for member of House of Representatives representing the federal constituency, Akin Alabi in 2027.

The APC chieftains and members made this declaration during the launch of ‘Friends of Akin Alabi for Tinubu 2027″ on Saturday at Alaakia area of Ibadan.

Speaking, Alabi who is the chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Works, declared that the duo of former Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku and a former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi are confused politicians who have not idea about Nigerian economy.

He noted that the duo cannot do more than what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing, said that Atiku and Obi or any other candidates cannot withstand Tinubu.

He said that the group is a grassroots volunteer movement for the continuity of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Alabi said, “We are here for the official presentation of Friends of Akin Alabi for Tinubu 2027. We have been doing the background work all these while registering volunteers.

“We are trying to raise 20,000 volunteers to work for Tinubu in Egbeda/ Ona Ara federal constituency. You can see thousands of people. It shows that the people of the federal constituency are ready to vote for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“For those that understands economy z there is micro and macro economic policies. Tinubu said no more subsidy. He is trying to restructure the economy. Virtually, all the presidential candidates in 2023 said they will remove subsidy.

“They all said that they are going to remove fuel subsidy, they all said that they are going to float the naira. Asiwaju has been doing that. Everybody that understands the economy will know that Nigeria’s economy is on the track.

“The question is that what do they have? They said they are going to do what the president is doing and the President is doing it and they are confused.

“When it comes to issue -based campaigns, they will not have anything to say. It is on camera, they cannot deny it. We will play it for them because it is on camera.

“Now, they will say how much is a Kongo of gaari, because they don’t know anything about the economy. What they will just say is beer parlor politics, that is what they will say.

“But the good thing about is is that they said that they will do the same thing that Asiwaju is doing. What Tinubu is doing is the right thing. They will do the same thing. At this time, that is the right thing to do and he is doing it.”

Coordinator, Friends of Akin Alabi for Tinubu 2027,” Okuwatosin Oluwadara, while addressing the gathering, noted that the group was formed in order to achieve a goal.

He said, “A common goal to move our communities forward. A common goal to strengthen leadership at the grassroots. And a common goal to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

“Our goal is bold and we are ready for it. We are building a network of 20,000 committed volunteers—20,000 mobilizers, 20,000 voices, 20,000 champions of this movement across our communities. And we are starting strong right here in Egbeda and Ona-Ara Local Government Areas.

Former chairman of Ona Ara local government area, Ismaila Akanni while speaking noted that those who are aspiring in 2027 cannot match Tinubu’s achievements.

He said, “After leaving this place, we should go to houses, markets and our communities and preach Tinubu’s re-election bid. Those who are aspiring to succeed him in 2027 cannot match his achievements.

“We will not allow them to come here and support another candidate or party apart from APC. As we support Tinubu, we should also support Akin Alabi for another term. We have seen the good works of Alabi on Egbeda and Ona Ara local government areas. On this note we should go and continue to campaign for them.

Women leader of APC in Egbeda local government area, Mrs Aderonke Adedeji, noted that there was no need for much noise because the lawmaker had done well in the federal constituency and deserved another term in office.

She said, “I want to congratulate we, the women, we shall all prosper in this government. I thank the leaders. We will all succeed. We are talking about continuity, we are not just saying it, it is because what they have done.

“This is not the first time of having a federal representative, but this one has done well. I am happy to know you. And I am happy to identify with you.”

A chieftain of the party from Ona Ara local government area, Bola Fawole noted that there is no vacancy in both Aso Rock and Egbeda and Ona Ara local government areas.

He said, “As for Tinubu, there is no vacancy and there is no vacancy in Egbeda and Ona Ara federal constituency.

Other leaders from Egbeda local government area among whom were Hon Dauda Adeniyi Bashir also said that Tinubu and Alabi have been doing well. They added that they all deserved another terms.

APC chairman in Ona Ara local government area, Hon Wasiu Ogundipe while speaking said that Tinubu and Alabi deserved another terms.

He said “Akin Alabi has been doing well. Tinubu has been doing well too.”
