2027: APC National Chairman, Yilwatda’s Visit To Oyo, Will Strengthen Party Unity – Alli

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has welcomed the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to Oyo State, describing the visit as timely, significant and a major boost to the ongoing efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Alli said in Ibadan on Wednesday that the presence of the national chairman in the state demonstrated the commitment of the APC national leadership to building a united, disciplined and formidable party capable of reclaiming the state in 2027.

According to him, Oyo APC remains determined to put every internal disagreement behind it and concentrate its energy on the larger objective of rescuing the state from what he described “as years of poor governance, political betrayal and administrative shortcomings.

“I warmly welcome our National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to the historic and politically significant Oyo State. His visit is a demonstration that the national leadership of our great party is deeply concerned about the progress, unity and electoral fortunes of APC in the state.

“His presence will further energise our members, reassure our supporters and strengthen our collective resolve to present a united front before the people of Oyo State.

“We are ready to work with the national leadership to build a party that is disciplined, inclusive, transparent and firmly rooted at the grassroots,” he said.

The APC candidate stressed that the party’s strength lies in its ability to accommodate diverse interests while pursuing a common political objective, adding that no personal ambition should be allowed to supersede the collective interest of the party.

Alli called on all APC leaders, elders, stakeholders and members across the 33 local government areas to seize the opportunity of the national chairman’s visit to renew their commitment to reconciliation, unity and purposeful mobilisation.

He said that the APC was not merely preparing for an election but was preparing to offer Oyo people a credible alternative anchored on competence, accountability, security, economic development and inclusive governance.

The senator further expressed confidence in the leadership of Prof. Yilwatda, describing him as a leader with the experience, temperament and capacity to unite the party and position it for greater electoral victories.

He assured the national chairman that Oyo APC members were prepared to work tirelessly with the national leadership, adding that the party’s structures across the state would be mobilised for victory in 2027.

Alli, therefore urged APC members to accord Prof. Yilwatda and the national leadership the respect and cooperation required to resolve outstanding issues and move the party forward.

“The task before us is greater than any individual. It is about the future of Oyo State and the welfare of our people. We must therefore put APC first, Oyo State first and the people first.

“I am confident that with unity of purpose, genuine reconciliation and disciplined grassroots mobilisation, APC will emerge victorious in 2027.

“We welcome our National Chairman with open arms, and we assure him that Oyo State is ready for the progressive change that APC represents,” he said.

He also welcome all members of the APC National leadership including the National Secretary, Senator Bashir Ajibola.
