The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu, has directed the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) to mobilise no fewer than 150 million supporters nationwide in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kalu gave the directive on Thursday in Abuja while hosting a delegation of the group from Edo, Ekiti, and Katsina states on the sidelines of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The visit was aimed at reaffirming the commitment of the Renewed Hope Partners to promoting and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President across the country.

Speaking during the meeting, Kalu, who is the founder of the initiative, reiterated that the core objective of the group is to promote government policies and achievements while strengthening democracy and securing Nigeria’s future.

He charged members of the group to take the Renewed Hope Agenda to every segment of society, including markets, worship centres, motor parks, campuses, and local government areas.

“This initiative speaks to the future of Nigeria. Whatever we do today is to make us a better nation in the years to come.
“We want to establish campus branches in all universities, and ensure our presence in major markets and all local government areas across the country.

“We want to be everywhere , in beer parlours, churches, mosques, and motor parks. Anywhere people gather to discuss, we want the Renewed Hope Agenda to be the focus.

“Your responsibility is to simplify the President’s agenda and make it relatable to the common man. When people understand it, they will know why they should support the APC.

“If it is election time, you campaign. If it is voter registration, you mobilise. If it is advocacy, you engage actively,” he said.
Kalu described the target of 150 million supporters, particularly through online registration, as ambitious but achievable, noting that early figures from ongoing registration efforts indicate growing public acceptance of the initiative.

He added that the group’s mandate extends beyond electoral mobilisation, stressing that it would also engage in legislative advocacy by lobbying lawmakers on key national issues, including the proposed reserved seats for women, independent candidacy, local government autonomy, and the creation of state police.

The Deputy Speaker described members of the group as “change agents, nation builders, and defenders of democracy,” adding that the platform remains open to partnerships with individuals and organisations aligned with the President’s vision.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Mathias Ehizua, said the delegation’s visit was to brief the Deputy Speaker on the group’s activities and progress within two months of its establishment, particularly in the area of online membership registration.

Ehizua noted that the Renewed Hope Partners distinguishes itself as the only support group with a structured online database for members, aimed at enhancing coordination and outreach.

In their separate remarks, the Ekiti State Secretary of the group, Elder Kayode Eso; the Katsina State Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Bishir Yahaya; and the Edo State Women Leader, Comrade Judith Ife, pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts across polling units, wards, and local government areas in their respective states.

Also speaking, the Edo State Coordinator, Barr. Armstrong Adedigba, disclosed that the group had already registered 11,800 members within two months of its establishment in the state.

He added that several civil society organisations and clergy groups in Edo had indicated interest in aligning with the Renewed Hope Partners.
