2027: Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates Renewed Hope Coordinators, Hails Tinubu Over Giant Strides

Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated Local Government Renewed Hope Coordinators to sensitise the residents on the need to re-elect President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office in the 2027 general election.

At the event held at Oregun, Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu said the President Bola Tinubu-led administration had given birth to a new Nigeria, with an unprecedented record of achievements in less than three years in office

According to him, the president’s achievements in the two years of his presidency have surpassed those of successive governments in the state.

Also, about 20 branded buses with the Renewed Hope Agenda logo and a picture of President Bola Tinubu were distributed for mobilisation and logistics purposes.

The event had in attendance: the State deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker, State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, Chief Of Staff to the governor, Tayo Ayinde, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, among other top government functionaries and All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains, traditional rulers, community leaders, different ethnic groups, among others.

The state’s Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Lawal Pedro, administered the oath of allegiance to the coordinators.

Sanwo-Olu, in his address, while charging the Renewed Hope Coordinators to propagate the achievements of President Tinubu, stressed that he deserves a second term in office.

According to the governor, “What we have just witnessed is the swearing-in and administration of the oath of allegiance of the 20 local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Coordinators. We have not started any form of campaign.

“This is an activation of commitment and association of like minds. It is an activation of the Renewed Hope slogan. It is a coming together of the ambassadors to propagate the achievements of Mr President; they want to propagate with their flags to let people be aware of what he is doing.”

Sanwo-Olu added, “The Renewed Hope Ambassadors have chosen to go to every ward and propagate; it is a choice.”

He stressed that, “President Tinubu’s achievements are numerous to count, as the Governor of the state, together with the supporters, we are ready to give him support for a second term in office. The man has birthed a new Nigeria for us. I know too well that he has reduced the country’s debt burden; this man has stabilised the economy; this man has given Nigerian workers a new minimum wage; this man is providing infrastructure; this man has brought down inflation; this man has reduced the prices of foodstuffs.

“He has engaged in a lot of international relationships to bring in investments. I know what investors have brought into Lagos. He is ensuring that development reaches every nook and cranny of the country.

Earlier, the Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor and Renewed Hope Ambassador Lagos State, Mr Tayo Ayinde, said the project is a “national movement of engagement and responsibilities that must be felt at the grassroots. It is to strengthen public confidence.

“It is not a campaign organisation, but a mandate to pass across the message to communities, markets, schools and grassroots by communicating the President’s achievements to the people.”

He maintained that the propagation would cascade from the national level to zones, states, councils and wards, saying, “that structures find expression through the coordinators.”

Ayinde, therefore, cautioned the Coordinators not to see the administration of the oath of allegiance as an honorary title but as an assignment that must be delivered.

“As you take the oath, you also take the covenant of honour,” Ayinde stated.
