Ahead of the January 16, 2027 general election, the South-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.

The resolution is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the APC South-East Zonal Expanded Executive Committee meeting and made available to journalists in Abuja.

The meeting, presided over  yesterday by the APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, was attended by the newly elected party chairmen from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, as well as other members of the zonal executive committee.

In the communiqué, the South-East APC zonal executive committee also expressed support for the party’s governors and other elected officials at various levels of government in the zone.

According to the communiqué, the meeting focused on issues affecting the unity, growth and electoral prospects of the party in the South-East geopolitical zone, particularly as political actors begin early alignments ahead of future elections.

“The South-East Zonal Executive Committee reaffirms its total and unwavering support for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming presidential election,” the communiqué stated.

“The committee equally reiterates its full and unalloyed support for all APC governors in the South-East zone, as well as all elected representatives and officials of the party at the federal, state and local levels,” it added.

The committee also urged party members across the five South-East states to work together to strengthen the party’s chances in future elections.

“The meeting resolved that party members and leaders across the South-East zone should work in unity and with a shared commitment to deliver comprehensive electoral victories for the APC in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections across the zone,” the communiqué further stated.
