A retired justice of the Supreme Court and the chairman of Body of Benchers, Justice Mary Odili, has said the Nigerian judiciary now has a committee that addresses the problem of conflicting judgments, amidst heightened criticisms and dwindling public trust in the country’s courts.
Justice Odili, at the 2024 Call to Bar ceremony of 4,412 new lawyers in the legal profession, said the judiciary is working hard to gain public confidence
She said the committee, comprising high ranking members of the Nigerian judiciary, is working to address incidence of conflicting judgments.
She advised the new lawyers to avoid the temptation of being caught up in media trial.
