Seven construction workers recently kidnapped in Owa Onire community in  Ifelodun local government area of Kwara have regained their freedom.

The freed  abductees included two engineers on  the employment of the state Ministry of Works.

The commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, confirmed the release of the workers in a statement yesterday.

Olododo commended the efforts of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and security forces at strengthening public safety and rid the state of bandits and terrorists.

“We are grateful to His Excellency and to the security agencies. We also appreciate everyone who stood by us in these trying times,” he said.
