The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has that it disbursed a total of N32,142,000.00 to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, with 750 students as beneficiaries.
The payment, which was released in August, formed part of the Fund’s ongoing student-loan disbursement programme aimed at easing access to tertiary education by covering tuition and upkeep costs for eligible undergraduates.
NELFUND announced the disbursement on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, noting that the institution had confirmed the receipt of the funds, in an acknowledgement letter dated September 2, 2025, signed by Dr Mohammed Guzali Abdulhamid, the deputy provost of the college.
The latest payment was part of a wider roll-out of funds to multiple institutions across the country as the Fund implements the student-loan scheme created to expand access to higher education.
The agency has in recent months announced large-scale disbursements to universities and colleges as it scales up operations.
Education observers believed that timely disbursements can alleviate financial pressure on students and families, enabling students to remain in school and focus on their studies rather than short-term survival concerns.
NELFUND’s portal and social channels advise students to confirm that their bank details and school records were up to date to ensure they receive payments without delay.
