In the face of recurring attacks on security personnel in Nigeria, the Commandant General of Nigeria Peace Corps, Dr. Mustapha Muhammed Abubakar, has expressed the agency’s determination to collaborate with sister agencies to identify and punish those responsible for these acts. Dr. Abubakar emphasized that no individual is above the law and called on law enforcement agencies to ensure that culprits, regardless of their status, face the consequences of their actions.

Dr. Abubakar firmly stated that every person should be held accountable for their actions and that no one has the right to disrespect, insult, or assault law enforcement officers. He emphasized that no individual holds a higher position than the government and the state. Nigeria Peace Corps, under the leadership of Dr. Abubakar, stands against any form of injustice and believes that an injustice committed against one is an injustice against all.

The Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Administration of the Peace Corps, Azeez W.T., echoed Dr. Abubakar’s sentiments and condemned the recent surge in attacks on uniformed personnel. He specifically mentioned a police officer who was subjected to a barbaric attack by a civilian named Seun Kuti, emphasizing that such criminal acts must be met with the full force of the law. ACG Azeez warned that if this disturbing trend is not swiftly addressed, it could lead to a breakdown of law and order and potentially result in anarchy.

Dr. Abubakar acknowledged the challenging experiences that security agencies endure in the line of duty. He highlighted the selflessness and sacrifices made by men and women in uniform who put their lives at risk for the safety and well-being of the nation. These individuals prioritize the nation’s security over personal comforts and deserve respect from all members of society.

Dr. Abubakar encouraged law enforcement officers to continue their dedicated service to the nation and urged them to collaborate in identifying and apprehending the individuals responsible for undermining the security apparatus. He stressed the significance of security matters, emphasizing that they are as delicate as life itself.
