The commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Mohammed Sani Idriss stated this while distributing foodstuff to principals of Senior Secondary Schools for feeding SSS3 students during an extension programme initiated by the government to prepare them to pass both national and West African examinations.

Idriss stated that the payment of the fees even before the commencement of the examination was to ensure that the students get their results immediately after the exercise.
He said, “I want to tell you that it is only in Yobe State that the government is shouldering the responsibility of the payment of WAEC, NECO and NBAIS fees.
“Completely, the 18, 623 students have all their payment for the registration of their examinations settled by the Yobe State government.

“It is only in Yobe State that a government is giving its citizens a private inclined education that is being paid from the treasury of the state government.”

The commissioner used the forum and called on the principals and their staff to work tirelessly towards actualizing the dream of governor Mai Mala Buni by ensuring that they graduated with good results for a better future.

The principals have while responding commended the governor for settling the examination registrations fees adding that with the approval of funds for extension programme to the SSS3, the students will have nothing less than the required results.
