Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed has directed security agencies to arrest and prosecute the suspected killers of Mohammad Ghani, a son of the district head of Miri.
LEADERSHIP learned that Ghani was killed after a violent confrontation between rival members of Professional Hunters and Yan Ba Beli during the recent Sallah Durba in Bauchi.

Tension mounted among the warring parties after members of the Yan Ba Beli group interrupted the procession of the horse riders’ entourage of Ghani’s father while on their way to the palace of the Emir of Bauchi to accompany him to the Government House on a Sallah homage to the governor.
While condoling the bereaved district head, Governor Mohammed said an investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances leading to the death of Ghani.

He said he had directed the commissioner of police and director of the Department of State Services (SSS) to ensure that no stone was left unturned in the process of the investigation and the perpetrators brought to book.

The governor said nobody connected to the unfortunate incident would go scot-free.
Responding, the district head of Miri, Hussaini Abubakar, commended the governor for the visit and called for a thorough investigation into the matter to serve justice to the deceased.
