Amid Rivalry, Adeleke Picks Osun First Lady To Host Remi Tinubu

Amid confusion created by the wives of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on who to host visiting first lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in the state today, the state chief executive has cleared Mrs. Titilola Adeleke to carry out the assignment.

He said Titiola is the official first lady of the state and the host of the president’s wife.
Ngozi and Titilola Adeleke, the two wives of the governor had caused confusion in the state as they battled for the office of the first lady ahead of Mrs Tinubu’s visit.

The two wives had in their preparations for the first lady’s visit to Osun printed two different posters to usher “Her Excellency” into the state.

It was gathered that as preparations for Mrs Tinubu’s visit to turn the sod of the Alternative High School for Girls at Oke D.O, Ilesha Road gathered momentum, the two women tried to outsmart each other, with both of them laying claim to the office of the first lady of the state, printing separate posters for the ceremony.

The governor in a swift response to the quagmire in a release by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in Osogbo, the state capital said, “For clarification, Mrs Titilola Adeleke, the first lady of Osun State, is officially hosting the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria tomorrow (today) in line with the directive of Mr Governor. There is no confusion on this official position.

“The flier circulating purportedly from the Office of Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, the wife of the state governor, is fake news and the person behind it was nabbed and questioned last night.

“The said flier was never authorised by Erelu Ngozi Adeleke. The material was manufactured and shared by elements who wanted to sow discord and create an atmosphere of confusion.’’

Meanwhile, Titilola Adeleke in a statement by the state commissioner for information and public enlightenment Mr Kolapo Alimi, described the visit as yet another important avenue to be maximised to the fullest because of the many goodies associated with such visit for the growth and development of people, especially women, and children.

Mrs Adeleke was quoted as making the remark when she addressing members of a special committee put in place by her husband for the visit of the wife of the president today.
