The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has said that a total of 36 state-owned tertiary institutions had been onboarded for the Student loan scheme, noting that the students of the institutions can now apply for the loan effective July 7, 2024.
NELFUND disclosed this on Sunday via its official X handle (formerly Twitter).
The tweet reads, “The management of NELFUND is pleased to announce that students enrolled in the following 36 state-owned tertiary institutions can now apply for student loans effective today, 7th July 2024
“The management of these institutions have successfully submitted their students’ data to the NELFUND Student Verification System. We urge all other state-owned tertiary institutions to submit their complete student data to the NELFUND Student Verification System timely to enable their students to benefit from the scheme.”
LEADERSHIP reports that NELFUND had previously suspended the processing of applicants from State-owned Universities, Colleges of Education and Polytechnics over the inability of the affected institutions to submit their students’ data to the NELFUND Student Verification System on schedule.
