DBN Wins SME Finance Awards

Development Bank of Nigeria Plc (DBN) has emerged winner of two awards at the just-concluded Global SME Finance Forum Conference Awards 2024, held in Sao Polo, Brazil.

The bank’s top management led by the Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Tony Okpanachi, mounted the dais twice to receive the awards in two categories. The first was the SME Financier of the Year – Africa Award, while the second was the SME Financier of the Year – Global Champion DFI, IFI Guarantee Agency Award respectively.

The awards, according to the organisers of the Global SME Finance Awards 2024, were bestowed on DBN in recognition of the bank’s pivotal role as an enabler of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) growth in Nigeria.

Commenting on the awards, Dr. Okpanachi said: “We’re excited to announce that we have been named the SME Financier of the Year – Africa, and the SME Financier of the Year – Global Champion DFI, IFI Guarantee Agency respectively at this year’s Global SME Finance Forum Conference Awards 2024. This prestigious recognition honours our unwavering commitment to empowering MSMEs and fostering innovation in MSME finance. We are incredibly proud to be recognised as global leaders in this space. We are honoured to receive this recognition and will continue driving impactful change in the financial landscape.’’
