Against all odds, the Port Harcourt based team showcased their prowess with a thrilling display of skill and determination on the basketball court to beat Gboko City Chief 72-59 in the final match to clinch the title.

The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Hoopers taking an early lead in the first quarter and maintaining their advantage throughout the match with Abel Offia, who was named the most valuable player, delivered a stellar performance and scored 20 points from both the three-point line and the free-throw line.

Reflecting on their victory, Hoopers’ head coach, Ogoh Odaudu, attributed their success to the unity and determination of the team. “Despite facing challenges and rustiness since their return from the BAL, the team’s unity, cohesion and resilience propelled us to victory.”Coach Odaudu stated.

On the other side, City Chiefs’ coach, Alex Ujoh, acknowledged their shortcomings in the game, blaming selfish play as factors responsible for their defeat. “We were not getting our turn over right, and our players became selfish.” Coach Ujoh stated.
