Bauchi Gov Signs Budget Into Law

Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, has signed the state’s 2025 budget of N467.9 billion into law.
LEADERSHIP Weekend reports Governor Mohammed had in late November presented the 2025 budget proposal to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for consideration and passage.

Governor Mohammed said while signing the budget on Friday that it takes effect from January 1, 2025.
He commended members of the House for their commitment to the review of the proposal submitted leading to the final approval of the 2025 budget.

The governor said the 2025 budget represents the bold mission of his administration for the development of the state.

He assured that other sources of revenue would be leveraged to optimise budget performance of the state.

Speaker of the House, Abubakar Sulaiman said after all the necessary legislative procedures and review of the budget, the House marked up the budget from over N465bn to N467 billion to accommodate developmental needs of the state.

He said the House, through various committees, meticulously reviewed the proposal to ensure that adequate resources are allocated to all sectors.

Sulaiman said the increment reflects the transparency and oversight function of the House.
