The Ansar-Ud Deen Society of Nigeria on Thursday, urged policymakers in the Nigerian educational system to redirect the nation’s educational curriculum away from the ones inherited by the colonial administration into the one that prioritises technology-driven learning for the country’s graduates to meet up with contemporary demands of the 21st century.

This is just as the organisation disclosed that leadership of the Society was already working towards strengthening the curricular needs that will bridge the technological gap and provide opportunities for graduates in all the primary, secondary schools, as well as the higher institutions owned by the organisation.

National President of the Society, Alhaji Abdulrafiu Ademola, stated these while fielding questions from journalists yesterday at a press conference ahead of the 3-day 11th Triennial National Conference of the Society scheduled to commence on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Flanked by the Ansar-Ud Deen Society’s Missioner in Ogun State, Sheik Abdul-Rahman Olarewaju Ahmad and three other national executive members, Sanni said the need to re-tailor the nation’s educational system becomes necessary because the one inherited from the colonial masters had only succeeded at producing many unemployable graduates.

In his special remarks, Sheikh Ahmad emphasized that the educational system which Nigeria currently runs was a legacy of the colonialists which emphasized education that is not for the nation’s development, but meant “to serve the colonial administrative interest and we have continued on that part.
