Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has approved the appointment of the emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Nuhu Wabi, as the 2025 Amirul Hajj, leading Muslim Pilgrims to this year’s Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The governor, who disclosed over the weekend in Bauchi, also appointed Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, as deputy Amirul Hajj.
He described the emir as a highly respected traditional ruler known for his wealth of experience, integrity, and leadership in religious and public affairs.
Our correspondent reports that the team comprises individuals of proven dedication, administrative competence, and deep understanding of Hajj operations.
Governor Mohammed added, “Their selection is based on merit, and their track records of selfless service. We have full confidence in the committee’s ability to discharge their duties with diligence, transparency, and commitment to the welfare of the pilgrims.”
Other Members of the Amirul Hajj include the Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Umar, Grand Khadi of Bauchi State, Khadi Umar Liman; the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Isa Tilde and the Chief Imam of Bauchi, Alhaji Bala Baban-Inna
Other other hand, the governor also appointed the commissioner for religious affairs, Eng. Mohammed Binni Abdulkadir as secretary of the team.
The governor said their appointment underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to provide guidance, religious oversight, support, and leadership to ensure the spiritual well-being of Bauchi State pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
He assured commitment to ensuring that this year’s Hajj, like previous exercises, is successful, hitch-free, and spiritually rewarding for all pilgrims.
The governor said that the team will work in collaboration with relevant authorities, including the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria ( NAHCON ), to ensure a seamless and successful pilgrimage.
Governor Mohammed urged the appointed team to discharge their duties diligently, with the utmost sincerity, and in accordance with the principles of fairness, justice and equity.
