Continental Hotel Celebrates Workers’ Day, Commits To Personnel Welfare

Continental Hotel’s emphasis on employee welfare and development has created a positive work environment, driving exceptional service and memorable experiences for guests.

The cluster director, Human Resources, Continental Hotels, Niyi Agoro, who disclosed this as part of the company’s efforts to celebrate Workers’ Day, said its  commitment to employee welfare is a key factor in its success.

The director described the workers as the greatest asset and resource of the company in achieving the yearnings and aspirations of its guests and stakeholders over the years.

According to him.the hotel’s innovative programs and policies which  include a four-month maternity leave policy, performance-based salary increases, and a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion forms the bedrock of its hands man resource policies .

He noted that  these initiatives demonstrate the hotel’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding hard work and supporting the growth and development of its employees.

 

He recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel continued to pay employee salaries, with some receiving 100 per cent of their salary for several months.

 

This gesture , he noted demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to its employees and its willingness to prioritise their welfare during challenging times.

 

The director noted that the hotel’s nursery facility for nursing mothers is a unique offering that sets it apart from its peers adding that this  facility provides a safe and comfortable space for nursing mothers to care for their babies while they are at work.

 

He explained that the  Continental Hotel’s transportation services are another benefit that demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to employee welfare as the  hotel has continually  deployed  befitting buses to ensure safe and comfortable commuting for employees.

 

Agoro listed other hotel’s staff facilities, including layover dormitories and separate facilities for male and female colleagues, to demonstrate its focus on employee comfort and well-being.adding that these facilities provide a comfortable space for employees to rest and recharge during their breaks.

 

He informed that as Workers’ Day approaches, the hotels ,both in Lagos & Abuja are gearing up to recognise exceptional performance, motivate employees through commendation, and provide special lunch buffets.

 

Agoro asserted that the dedication to employee welfare is a testament to the hotel’s values and commitment to its staff.

The director submitted that the hotel’s leadership has set a tone that prioritises employee welfare, and this is reflected in the hotel’s policies and practices.
