Minister of women affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has called for increased collaboration to drive growth and maintain high standards within Nigeria’s beauty industry.

She made the call yesterday at the Masters of Beauty Symposium and Graduation themed; “Elevating Beauty Industry Standards: The Power of Education, Innovation and Collaboration,” sponsored by UNNO Health Group and Beauty Theraphy Institute (BTI), in Abuja.

Represented by her special adviser on strategic partnerships, Chinny Okoye, the minister restated the ministry’s commitment to supporting innovation, economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim highlighted the ministry’s dedication to partnerships that benefit the sector.

“We are open to partnerships and collaboration that help expand opportunities, scale ideas, and spotlight Nigerian excellence on a global stage,” she said.

She encouraged the graduates to “keep pushing, keep growing,” and to remember that “beauty is not just what you create, it’s also the impact you leave behind.”

Speaking on the need to ensure safety while seeking beauty services, the founder of UNNO Health Group and convener of the Masters of Beauty, Dr. Hilda Titiloye, said many Nigerians are unknowingly putting their health at risk by patronising beauty providers without proper training or certification.

“People should love themselves first. If you love yourself, you’ll be careful about where you go to seek certain types of care. Seek the professionals,” she said.

Titiloye also highlighted the economic value of natural beauty resources like shea butter and moringa oil, saying they remain underutilised due to lack of documentation. “We need to consciously gather data that will help us make good decisions within the industry,” she added.
