The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to quality healthcare and family support by donating a newly equipped mini-theatre to the maternity ward of the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital (NARH) in Kaduna.
NAOWA also commissioned a creche and nursery primary school with the donation of two tricycles to ease movement of pupils, teachers and residents of the barracks.
NAOWA president, Mrs Mernan Femi Oluyede, who was represented by the association’s deputy president, Mrs Bilkisu Ibrahim, described the gesture as deeply symbolic, noting it was more than just unveiling a facility but a bold statement of compassion and purposeful leadership and commitment to reducing child and mother mortality during child-birth.
“This commissioning of the newly upgraded mini theatre for the maternity ward is more than the unveiling of a facility. It represents safety for mothers, hope for families, and an enhanced capacity for our dedicated medical personnel,” Mrs Ibrahim said on behalf of the NAOWA president.
