In a message dispatched from Rabat on Monday, the Moroccan monarch expressed profound sorrow at the news of Buhari’s death, describing him as an “illustrious son” of Nigeria who worked tirelessly to serve his country and promote its development.

“I share your grief and want you to know how much I appreciated the working sessions I had with the deceased,” King Mohammed VI stated.

He recalled Buhari’s efforts to deepen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Morocco during his tenure.

The King noted that these engagements had culminated in “the launch of promising development projects that have ushered a new era grounded in friendship and close cooperation between our two sister nations.”
