The South East national vice chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Augustine Ehiemere, has urged Abia State governor, Alex Otti, to return to the party.

‎Ehiemere made the appeal when he addressed the Abia South Senatorial District APGA stakeholders’ meeting in Umuahia, the state capital, ahead of the 2027 general election.

‎He described APGA, on whose platform Otti contested the 2015 governorship election, as his true political home and the most stable platform for sustainable governance.

‎He cautioned him against aligning with what he termed as unstable political platforms, asserting that the APGA remains “the healthiest and most stable political party in the country.”

‎”We are calling on him to leave the Labour Party (LP) and return to his political home, APGA, where he contested the 2015 governorship election and made a remarkable impact,” he said.

‎The onetime state APGA chairman noted that “the LP is currently a breeding ground for crisis, African Democratic Congress is in disarray, and the All Progressives Congress is not a safe option.’

‎”The People’s Democratic Party is already diminished. Only the APGA provides the ideological consistency and stability he needs to continue delivering good governance.”

‎The vice chairman, who lauded Otti for the recent launch of the state’s security fund, commanded his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mba, for attending the event.

‎Furthermore, he expressed delight with his prompt payment of salaries and pensions, underlining the need for him to clear outstanding gratuities owed to retirees.

‎”Finally, I encourage our members across the district, in particular and the state in general, to remain committed to our principles and vision,” Ehiemere concluded.
