Trump Diagnosed With Vein Condition Following Leg Swelling, Bruised Hand

US President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with a long-term yet benign vein condition, as confirmed by the White House on Thursday, amidst speculation regarding his notably bruised hand and swollen legs.

The 79-year-old was found to have “chronic venous insufficiency” after he “noted mild swelling in his lower legs” in recent weeks, stated White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to reporters.
Leavitt explained that the discolouration on Trump’s right hand was the result of “frequent handshaking” and the use of aspirin as part of a “standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

Trump made history as the oldest individual to assume the presidency when he began his second term this January, succeeding Democrat Joe Biden, who was 82 when he vacated the office.

The Republican often boasts about his energy levels and plays golf regularly. The administration recently shared an image of him depicted as Superman.

In April, Trump mentioned that after a routine medical check-up, he was in “perfect shape.”

However, Leavitt’s disclosures come after viral discussions online regarding the president’s visibly swollen ankles, particularly noted during the recent FIFA Club World Cup final in New Jersey, alongside his discoloured right hand.

Leavitt stated that Trump had requested her to share a note from his physician regarding the diagnosis “in the interest of transparency.”

She noted he had undergone “a comprehensive examination” and ultrasound tests, which confirmed chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition, especially in individuals over the age of 70.

This condition involves damaged leg veins that struggle to maintain proper blood flow.

“Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease,” she added.

Tests indicated that Trump had a “normal cardiac structure and function, with no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness,” Leavitt, 27, further stated.

Regarding the issue of hand bruising, Leavitt remarked: “This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy. The president remains in excellent health.”

Nonetheless, the White House had previously dismissed inquiries about Trump’s bruised hand several times, attributing it solely to handshaking.
