The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its National Campaign Council for the August 16, 2025, Karim I State Constituency bye-election in Taraba State.
The election, to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence in the North East.
A statement jointly signed by APC Deputy National Women Leader, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, and National Vice Chairman (North East) said the council is mandated to mobilise broad-based support, deepen engagement with voters, and drive issue-based campaigns tailored to the people of Karim I.
The bye-election follows a vacancy in the constituency’s seat at the Taraba State House of Assembly. The APC leadership said the council will work closely with state, local government, and grassroots structures to secure victory.
“This council represents our readiness, organisation, and determination to connect with the people of Karim I,” Ibrahim said. “With our dedicated team, guided by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we will deliver victory and ensure responsive representation for the people.”
The party urged members and supporters to back its candidate, pledging a campaign rooted in integrity, development-driven policies, and genuine commitment to the constituency’s progress.
The council is chaired by Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, with Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Sen. Sani Musa, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, Sen. Kaka Shehu, Sen. Jimmy Kuta as co-chairmen, and Prof. Suwaiba Sa’idu Ahmad as secretary.
Other members include Sen. Engr. Eze, Hon. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka Anite, former Taraba governor Jolly Nyame, H.E. Amayau Dauda Abubakar, H.E. Sani Abubakar Danladi, Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa, and H.E. Garba Umar UTC, among others.
