The newly inaugurated caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Dr Ben Nwoye, has announced the nullification of all suspensions previously imposed on members by the dissolved Ugochukwu Agballa-led executive.
Nwoye’s emergence as caretaker committee chairman followed the dissolution of the Agballa-led structure by the National Working Committee.
He made the announcement while addressing a large gathering of party leaders and supporters at the APC Secretariat in Enugu.
Among those who were purportedly suspended by the Agballah led executive were former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; former governor, Sullivan Chime; ex-speaker and current secretary of the caretaker committee, Eugene Odoh; former minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; former director-general of the Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu and other party chieftains.
Nwoye described the series of suspensions carried out under the previous leadership as a “political caricature” that undermined the strength and unity of the party in the state.
