An Abuja-based nongovernmental organisation (NGO), Ubola Rural Community Foundation (URCF), has expressed its willingness to partner with the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in restoring the hope of vulnerable members of society with sustainable skills.

The executive chairman of the URCF, Pharm. Musa Dauda, stated this during the distribution of Dignity Kits Project bags to 600 less privileged students and children from the society’s most vulnerable homes in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The bags which contained body and hair cream, brush, toothpaste, underwears, toiletries, detergents, renewable pads for the girl child among others, had the team visited Magami Secondary School, Government Day Secondary School Model and a community, all in Jalingo.

Pharm. Dauda said, “This part of the country has suffered insurgency, and this led to a lack of basic necessities, like sanitation, health, education and hygiene.

“This is meant to bring out the dignity and self-worth of girl children and boys. It also serves as a sign for restoration of Hope and empowerment,” the executive chairman added.

The Taraba State coordinator of NEDC, Adamu Lawal, was happy that URCF is collaborating with the commission to relieve people from burdens that are overwhelming them.

Lawal said, “Such initiative is much needed from organisations and spirited individuals to reach out to more vulnerable people in the society.”

He noted that most of the beneficiaries are the poorest of the poor and the most vulnerable members of society.

Some of the beneficiaries, Janice Joseph and Eleazer Morris thanked NEDC and URCF for providing them with kits at the time it was most needed.
