Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has on Sunday embarked on distribution of palliative comprising cash, bags of rice , maize , guinea corn , mattresses and clothings to the victims of insurgency in Ngoshe and Pulka, Gwoza local government area.
Speaking to newsmen during the distribution, Governor Zulum, who spent the night with the Ngoshe Internally Displaced Persons ( IDPs ) taking refuge in Pulka ,following the recent Boko Haram attack on their community, urged the people of Gwoza to coorperate with all the security agencies with a view to identify culprits that are living in the society.
The governor who noted that information is a veritable tool for addressing insecurity, said without the support of the communities, insecurity would never come to an end.
He advised the people of Ngoshe to be patient as the federal government in partnership with the State government is doing everything to secure the community.
“We were here yesterday and today we are here also to distribute palliative to Ngoshe and Pulka communities that were affected by the recent Boko Haram attack.
“Each and every of the household would receive N30,000, while married woman would receive N20,000. In addition to this, Mattresses and clothings would be given to women and men alongside rice, Maize, guinea corn among others.
“I want to acknowledge the support of the federal government and Aliko Dangote who has donated 30,000 10kg bags of rice to the less privileged in Borno. Pulka community would be benefiting from the scheme.
“We also have to take not that we are here distributing food and non food items not only to the affected Ngoshe community, but also to Pulka community which also suffered attack from the Boko Haram terrorists ” the governor said .
From Pulka Governor Zulum moved to Ngoshe to access the level of destruction carried out by the Boko Haram terrorists in the community.
Zulum was accompanied in the tour of Pulka and Ngoshe by the senator representing southern Borno senatorial district, Sen Ali Ndume, member representing Gwoza/ Damboa and Chibok at the green chamber, Hon. Ahmed Jaha, member representing Monguno/ Nganzai and Marte Federal Constituency, Engr Bukar Talba and other senior government officials.
