Members of the Ebubechukwu Uzo Coalition have expressed support for Hon. Jeph Afam Ogbodo’s ambition to represent Enugu East Senatorial District in the Senate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They declared that the era of poor representation in the zone was over.
The group announced its endorsement in Enugu yesterday, following what it described as months of extensive consultations with political leaders, community stakeholders, youths, women and residents across Nkanu Land and other parts of the Enugu East Senatorial District.
On behalf of the coalition, the founder and convener, Hon. Sampson Ebubechukwu Ukwu, said the movement was established on the principle that people of character, vision and commitment to service must be encouraged to occupy leadership positions at all levels of governance.
He said that among all those aspiring for the Senate seat, Ogbodo stands out for his closeness to the people and his clear understanding of the challenges facing the communities in the district.
The coalition described Ogbodo as a true son of the soil from Akegbe-Ugwu in Nkanu West Local Government Area, stressing that his relationship with the people is built on sincerity and shared experiences rather than political convenience.
According to the group, Ogbodo understands the daily struggles of ordinary people in Enugu East because he has experienced those realities firsthand and possesses the determination to change the narrative through purposeful leadership and effective representation, he said.”
