Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has urged Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to part ways with Martin Zubimendi, insisting he would prefer Myles Lewis-Skelly in central midfield.
Scholes believes Zubimendi struggled during his first season at Arsenal and suggested that the Spain international should be the player Arteta looks to move on this summer.
Speaking on The Overlap’s Fan Debate, the former England midfielder said: “I prefer Myles Lewis-Skelly in centre midfield to Zubimendi.
“I think Zubimendi struggled last year. If there’s one player you are going to get rid of, it will be him.”
Zubimendi joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad in 2025 and remains under contract with the Gunners until 2030.
