Power Oil’s WalkHeartOn has completed its first decade with the 10th edition attracting 11,896 physical attendees in Lagos. The event, held on October 1, 2026, at The Stables Sports Ground, Surulere, recorded 25,536 registrations ahead of the milestone edition.
For 10 years, WalkHeartOn has provided a platform for promoting heart health, physical activity and healthier lifestyles among Nigerians. The initiative has evolved from a traditional walk into a broader wellness experience, with activities designed to encourage participants to move, connect, celebrate World Heart Day, and engage with health-focused messaging.

Commenting on the milestone, Roland Akpe, Marketing Manager, Oils and Fats Portfolio at Tolaram, said, “For 10 years, WalkHeartOn has been a reflection of Power Oil’s commitment to helping Nigerians live healthier lives, reminding us that caring for our hearts goes beyond what we eat. It is also about staying active, moving more and making healthier choices every day. As we celebrate World Heart Day and a decade of WalkHeartOn, we are proud to have created a platform that brings Nigerians together to take meaningful steps towards healthier hearts.”
At the 10th edition, participants took part in fitness activities and health checks, while also enjoying games, refreshments, music and entertainment. The event brought together participants from different backgrounds, demonstrating the community-focused nature of the initiative. For Power Oil, the 10-year journey reflects a sustained commitment to encouraging healthier choices and creating opportunities for Nigerians to engage with heart-health messages in practical ways.
Beyond the statistics, WalkHeartOn has created a recurring opportunity for Nigerians to prioritise physical activity and spend time within a community built around wellness. As the initiative moves into its next chapter, the 10th edition provides both a celebration of its journey and a reminder of the importance of maintaining healthy habits beyond a single event. WalkHeartOn’s decade-long story demonstrates that meaningful change can begin with something as simple as taking a step.
