Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, charging its members to work tirelessly to secure victory for the party across all levels.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the appointees were selected based on merit, competence, and their proven track records.
The Governor urged the council to approach their mandate with high commitment, sincerity, and seamless strategic coordination to ensure the party sweeps the presidential, governorship, and legislative seats in 2027.
Governor Yusuf tasked the council with driving an issue-based campaign that prioritizes the public interest over political rhetoric. He instructed members to focus on highlighting the party’s key policy achievements, ongoing developmental projects, and future agenda to build public confidence ahead of the polls.
“The campaign must be driven by clear policy messages and a compelling vision that strengthens public trust in our party,” the Governor stated.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated team, the Director-General of the council, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, assured the Governor of the council’s readiness to deliver on its mandate.
Gwarzo, a former Deputy Governor of Kano State and immediate-past Minister of State for Housing, expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the trust reposed in the team.
He pledged that the council would leverage every legitimate strategy, grassroots mobilization, and effective coordination to achieve a decisive victory for the party.
Under the newly constituted structure, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo serves as the Director-General, while Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House, assumes the role of Council Secretary.
The council has been categorized into specialized sub-directorates to streamline strategic mobilization, media engagements, and field operations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
