The event, “Breaking the Mold-Creativity and National Development,” scheduled to be held from July 18-20, 2024, will be declared open by the governor of Ogun State, Prince Adedapo Abiodun.

In a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the president of the AAAN, Mr Steve Babaeko, disclosed that the AGM/Congress would also witness the election of a new executive committee that would direct the association’s affairs for the next two years.

He noted that the event would begin with courtesy visits to the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo Aremu 111, and the Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho.

Babaeko further explained that the AGM/Congress offered the opportunity to examine advertising’s contributions to national development.

“The 51st AGM/Congress offers a veritable platform for a real assessment of the advertising sector, how it currently impacts the socio-economic well-being of the country as well as how it can achieve a bigger impact, as evidenced by its theme.

“The Nigeria advertising industry is a major contribution to the country’s gross domestic product,” he said.

According to Babaeko, a recent report by PwC underscores the contributions of the advertising industry.

“Commissioned by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria and funded by various industry associations, the report put the industry’s value at N605.2 billion,” he added.

Also, the Events Planning Committee chairman, Mr Doyin Adewumi, stated that the line-up of multi-industry experts billed to discuss the theme of the AGM would provide fresh vistas for AAAN members.

“The association values expertise in other fields, which is why it has made it a tradition to seek out accomplished professionals in other areas to provide insights from which advertising professionals can gain tremendous knowledge and become better-rounded, “he said.
