The prestigious Leadership and Global Changemakers of the Decade Award will celebrate outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to societal development.
This recognition, the first of its kind, aims to honour those whose efforts have advanced women’s empowerment and driven meaningful transformation in various sectors.
Among those honoured are the minister of Women’s Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman, and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the minister of state for foreign affairs, Hon. Bianca Ojukwu.
The award ceremony, scheduled for March 8 at the Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton Hotel) at 4 PM, will bring together various influential figures, including diplomats, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and changemakers from across the country. More than just an evening of recognition, the event promises to be a powerful platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing, fostering new ideas and partnerships that could shape the future of governance and development in Nigeria.
Speaking ahead of the event, Evang. Dr Princess Onyinyechi, executive director of Women Rights Network Nigeria and convener of the award, emphasised the significance of acknowledging these distinguished individuals.
She highlighted their invaluable contributions to national progress, noting that their leadership acumen and pragmatism have set remarkable standards in governance, social impact, and policy implementation.
