The member representing Obingwa West constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Erondu Uchenna-Erondu has distributed empowerment and hospital equipment worth over N1billion to his constituents.
At the event tagged “Grand civic reception and mass empowerment programme” at Umuanunu Ancient Kingdom, the former governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu, thanked him for the gesture.
Ikpeazu (ambassador-designate) said the gesture was not an indication that the lawmaker had become too rich, but a testament to his care for the welfare of his people.
In his address, the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emeruwa, who led other members to the occasion, described him as a reliable member with compassion for all.
Also speaking, a former deputy governor of the state, Chris Akoma, noted that by the gesture, Uchenna-Erondu had shown resolute commitment to the upliftment of the constituency.
In his remarks, the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abraham Amah, expressed appreciation to the legislator for being a committed ambassador of the party.
Uchenna-Erondu said, the event marked the beginning of series of programmes lined up for the advancement of the constituency and the people in line with his campaign pledge.

‎Uchenna-Erondu, who appealed to those who did not benefit to wait for the next batch, urged those that benefitted to use the items for the purpose they are meant for to add value to their lives.

‎He expressed deep appreciation to the former governor for not only mentoring him, but imbibing the spirit of paying back to the society and wished him well in all his endeavours.

‎Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Comrade Sam, who received a Coaster bus, said the lawmaker had made an unforgettable impact on their lives, assuring that they would use the items judiciously.

‎Earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Raymond Aliga, described the legislator as a formidable representative whose kind gesture crosses party boundaries.
