With just 12 days to the start of the 3rd National Para Games, Abuja 2026, organisers have confirmed that all competition venues across the Federal Capital Territory are fully prepared to welcome athletes from around the country.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Local Organising Committee said the majority of events will take place at the iconic Moshood Abiola National Stadium, which will serve as the central hub of the Games.
Several competitions will be staged within the stadium complex. Para Athletics will hold at the Main Bowl, while indoor facilities in Packages A and B will host Para Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, Para Taekwondo, Para Table Tennis, Para Badminton and Wheelchair Tennis.
Other events will also be held at specialised facilities within the stadium precinct. Para Swimming will take place at the Swimming Pool Complex, while the Velodrome will host both Para Cycling and Para Karate. Para Shooting is scheduled for the stadium’s shooting range.
Beyond the stadium complex, additional venues have been designated for specific events. Para Canoeing will be staged at Jabi Lake, while Amputee Football will be played at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch.
The 3rd National Para Games Abuja 2026 is expected to attract thousands of athletes representing Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Organisers say the Games will celebrate resilience, excellence and inclusivity, while also serving as a platform to discover new talents and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in global para-sports.
