First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has described the unity and impressive turnout at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Summit in Abuja as a pointer to the party’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued by her press secretary, Rabi Yusuf, Hajiya Lawal spoke on the sidelines of the summit held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The summit, convened by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, brought together APC women leaders, support groups and stakeholders from across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to strengthen mobilisation structures ahead of the 2027 polls.
Mrs Lawal commended Senator Tinubu for providing a unified platform for APC women, describing the gathering as a demonstration of unity, commitment and collective resolve.
She said harmonising various women’s support groups under a coordinated APC campaign structure would enhance grassroots mobilisation and provide women with a stronger platform to advance the party’s success at all levels.
She said the First Lady of Nigeria’s charge to APC women to return to their states and take the achievements of the present administration to the grassroots was apt, noting that women remain a critical force in political participation and electoral outcomes.
She, therefore, urged women in the state to take the spirit of the Abuja summit back to their communities, wards and local government areas and work assiduously for the party’s success.
She stressed that the unity witnessed in Abuja should be replicated in Zamfara, adding that the party’s strength would continue to grow when women remain united and committed to a common objective.
Hajiya Huriyya also lauded Zamfara APC stakeholders who travelled to Abuja for the summit, saying their presence underscored the state’s readiness to play a leading role in the national mobilisation drive ahead of 2027.
The summit attracted First Ladies from various states, former First Ladies, wives of political leaders, women leaders and other top dignitaries.
She also hosted the Zamfara delegation for lunch, where stakeholders interacted and deliberated on the party’s way forward in the state.
The First Lady expressed confidence that the renewed unity and coordination among APC women at the national level would translate into stronger grassroots mobilisation and greater political participation for women in Zamfara State.
She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives that promote women’s participation, empowerment and unity, while urging Zamfara women to remain organised and steadfast ahead of 2027.
“When women come together with one voice and a common purpose, they have the strength to influence the direction of the nation,” she said.
