Actor and film producer Zachery Tyler Bryan was reportedly sentenced to more than a year in jail on Monday, after his arrest in 2024 for driving under the influence (DUI).
The ‘Home Improvement’ actor reached a plea deal with prosecutors after pleading guilty to the offence and agreeing to an enhancement, given many previous DUI charges, according to media reports. The actor was denied probation and will serve 14 months in county jail, according to reports.
The 44-year-old actor was initially arrested in February 2024 on accusations of DUI. In March of the same year, he was charged with a felony DUI, having already notched a DUI conviction in the 10 years before.
The California occurrence marked his fourth DUI charge, according to court records received by the media.
The actor was also charged with a misdemeanour for a hit-and-run and property damage.
According to records, Bryan refused a sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level of 0.15 or higher. The legal limit in California for drivers over 21 is .08 or more.
The Home Improvement actor
was previously arrested for alleged domestic violence in 2020 and convicted on two counts before being detained in another domestic violence issue in 2023, following a report of a physical dispute. He was held in Lane County Jail on Assault in the Fourth Degree APA (Abuse Prevention Act), third-degree robbery, and misdemeanour harassment charges.
In December, he was arrested in Oregon for allegedly violating his probation connected to an earlier domestic violence case.
He now awaits a hearing on March 2.
Bryan is best known for his role as Brad Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement and has also featured in the films First Kid and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
