Adamawa State deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has led members of the State Executive Council (SEC) in clearing drainages and refuse dumps in the state capital city of Yola on Wednesday.

Speaking for the state governor at the exercise, Prof. Farauta said that the SEC was directed to participate in the exercise to ensure a cleaner state capital city and environment.

She appealed for more persons to participate in the environmental sanitation to support the drive for a cleaner state, through enlightenment programmes on the importance of cleaning the environment.

Commissioner of Environment, Mr Mohammad Sadiq Mohammad, said all machineries have been put in place to achieve the desired goal of the exercise, thereby ensuring that the cleanliness is sustained.

The state government, through the State Environmental Protection Agency and Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes, have partnered to ensure the enforcement of the sanitation exercise.
