Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has solicited the intervention of the federal government to fix deplorable roads in the state.

The governor, who made the call during a working visit to the minister of works, Dave Umahi, in Abuja yesterday, noted that the federal government’s interventions in the sector would help to transform the state.

A statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, said that the governor was accompanied by his chief of staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye at the visit.

The governor briefed the minister on his administration’s multi-billion-naira infrastructure projects which including flyovers, dualisation of roads and ongoing construction of several major roads across the state.

He narrated that his administration has constructed over 150 kilometres of roads since his assumption of office, including the 1.5 kilometres per local government in the state.

While commending the minister for his bold approach in the road sector, the governor briefed him on some federal roads his administration has worked on.

Responding, the minister assured the governor of support and partnership in the management of federal road corridors across Osun State even as he acknowledged his proactive approach in the road sector.
