Coach Raymond Mdaka has named his final 21-man squad for South Africa’s U-20 team, Amajita, ahead of the CAF 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Mdaka initially released a 30-player provisional list four weeks ago. Following weeks of assessment, he finalized his squad on Thursday, 10 April.
South Africa has been placed in a tough Group B, where they’ll face hosts Egypt, Nigeria, and Morocco.
The tournament is scheduled to run from 26 April to 18 May 2025, featuring 13 nations vying for the coveted title.
Notable inclusions in the final team are Kaizer Chiefs starlet Mfundo ‘Obrigado’ Vilakazi and Orlando Pirates’ standout Mbekezeli ‘TLB’ Mbokazi.
