The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has appointed four senior advisors to reinforce its drive for stronger health financing, partnerships and international collaboration across the continent.

In a statement, the agency announced the appointments of Troy Fitrell as Senior Advisor on International Cooperation, Pierre Delsaux as Senior Advisor on Strategic Partnership, Christoph Benn as Senior Advisor on Debt Swaps, and Benedict Oramah as Senior Advisor on Strategic Financing.

The agency said the appointments bring together deep expertise across finance, diplomacy, public policy and global health. It noted that the move is designed to strengthen its capacity to mobilise funding, shape high-level policy discussions and expand partnerships in support of Africa’s health priorities.

Director-General Jean Kaseya said the new advisors would play a critical role in advancing the institution’s strategic agenda.

“I am delighted to welcome Benedict, Christoph, Troy and Pierre to Africa CDC,” Kaseya said. “Their stature, strategic insight and global reach will strengthen our ability to unlock new financing, deepen high-level partnerships and accelerate Africa’s path toward stronger health security and sovereignty.”
